PUBLIC NOTICE OF AN ARREST OF A CHEERLEADING COACH

To our Cheerleading Community…Cheer Canada was recently made aware that formal criminal charges have been laid against Christopher McMurren by the Edmonton Police Service for sexual assault and sexual exploitation in relation to his work as a former cheerleading coach. Cheer Canada is committed to creating a safe environment for all participants and as part of this commitment, we take the responsibility of protecting all our participants very seriously. In July 2020, Cheer Canada received a complaint about Christopher McMurren, notified police and immediately suspended him from all coaching duties and Cheer Canada activities.
